Full size and user friendly bench stone from the same quarry as the Opinel pocket stone

600 to 800 grit JIS R6001 Japan 1973, which is around 20 to 30 microns

Similar to the Rozsutec from Slovenia when speaking about finish and speed.

I lapped mine in such a progression:
- 80 grit SiC abrasive grain
- 150 grit SiC abrasive grain
- 220 grit SiC abrasive grain

Hard and dense stone.

Does not require soaking and absorb minimal amount of water - if fully submerged for a couple of minutes and then dried out with a towel and left on the dish rack in 60% humidity enviroment and 18 degrees celsius temperature it will dry out for less than 30 minutes

It forms very light and thin slurry after couple of minutes working on the stone with at least moderate pressure (let's say 1.5mm edge bevel with 3 to 4 kilograms of applied force )

Works on the slow side but with more pressure the speed can be busted at least 1/4 times

For me works very similar to a soft arkansas or just a little bit faster.

The finish on soft SS blades is similar to a soft arkansas but on the hazy side - definitely can not polish and edge as the bulgarian soft slate stones I showed on my channel (but they work much slower and leaves less aggressive edge)

I think it gives more aggressive edge than a soft arkansas

Good choice for most common kitchen SS knives in 54-56 HRc range.

.
I am pleased with the results with carbon steel as - О2, 1.2210, у8а, хвг, шх15, carbon steel opinel knives (I forgot what steel they are 8-) )

Great for putting micro bevels after coarser man made SiC and Al2O3 stones

Can be used as single stones for regular sharpening of soft SS knives but I can not recomnd it for major repair works unless you have an hour and couple of beers to spend
