Well this is just a quick review I don't have a lot of time with this stone but it just did something shocking to me.

It cut through the callous on my thumb, it drew blood so it cut completely through the callous. To put this in perspective a across the grain push cutting on news print edge has yet to do this. So I am a bit amazed.

First of all it is softer then soap stone. It forms a similar silt like slurry in use to a King 6K, but loads very easily. It also dries very rapidly, requiring wetting almost every 40-80 passes.
Of coarse it comes with the standard drawings telling you what not to do to this stone.

Frankly though I am still not sure if I like this stone. It forms wonderful edges but it is very unforgiving.
The slightest alignment problem either does nothing or carves a nick out of the stone, even with the pressures I would use to micro bevel with.

It is not a very thick stone in abrasive. The actual abrasive part is around a cm in depth to the total of the stone, it is hard to gauge accurately because of the sloppy lines of the abrasive over lapping the backing plate. The rest of the height of the stone is made up of a ceramic backing plate with very clear text saying not to use that side for sharpening. It is far wider then I was picturing in my head when I was first looking at the stone to purchase, it easily covers the entire blade of the straight razor.

Well that's it for now. I'll update more after I spend some more time with it. Namely after I use it on my straight razor.
