Something I have been pondering and asking around about... how do clamps on guided sharpening systems clamp blades with full V, diamond, or kite shaped cross sections? Also a very rounded spine on a full V can be tricksy... full convex too.
I noticed my Lansky can grab a V sometimes, other times not, and usually can be twisted out of alignment easily.
I built 3 quite different jigs that clamp the ricasso securely but not all blades have enough ricasso, or they might have thumbstuds that are annoying to remove. I think one of the jigs can be used to clamp the bevel down if necessary...
On narrow blades I am also having problems getting to the 10dps range. The clamp gets in the way.
